Hot chocolate

HOT CHOCOLATE
A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives.Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups — porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite. He then told them all to help themselves to the hot chocolate. When they each had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said:"Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.""The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.""What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup... but you consciously went for the BEST cups." "And then you began eyeing each other's cups.""Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life." "The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have.Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate."The happiest people don't need the best of everything. They just make the best of everything that they have.Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. And enjoy your hot chocolate!!~Author Unknown

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! TO ONE AND ALL

GREETINGS!

I am unused unspotted without blemish and I stretch before you for three hundred and sixty-five days. I am 2009 and I will present each day to you in its turn. Each day will be a new page in your Book of Life. It is, however, for you to choose what is written on each page.
Remember, it remains for you to make of me what you will! If you write with firm, steady strokes my pages will be a joy to look upon when the year 2010 arrives.
Each day will be a fresh new time in which you may make good choices that will enrich your life. It's time ahead for sweet and welcome new beginnings.
Be brave, strong and as determined as possible to fill each day with lots of Love, Kindness, Hope, Adventure, Awareness, Appreciation, Responsibility, Striving, and Forgiveness of Self and Others. Trust yourself and be forgiving and patient when events or people disappoint you -- for health's sake.
I am New Year 2009 and I am filled with possibilities and promise. Write your pages well and make me your best year ever.
New Year 2009

Tradition has it that every 365 days, you try to kick bad habits and start your life anew. We have a clean slate to write the next chapter of our lives. A chance to get it right. Let this year be better than all the others. So what will yours be?
In 2008 we worked out together, tightened our belts a bit, learned some new things, traveled to see family and generally got busy with life.
2009 promises to be busy also. My goals for the most part remain unchanged:
1) I want to show Gods love more and show it every day
2) Continue to reach and maintain my health goals
3) Increase our wealth and decrease our debt
4) Grow by learning something new
5) Keep my focus on what is truly important.
Glory to God in the highest heaven
who unto man His son has given
While Angles sing with tender mirth
A glad New Year to all on earth.
--Martin Luther

I pray you all the best in this up coming year!
